My Approach

No standard treatment, but attention to your situation.

Every complaint is different. That is why treatment at Bai Kang does not begin with a fixed set of points or techniques, but with your story. Through Traditional Chinese Medicine, I look at your complaints, your body, and factors that may influence how you feel.

Thoughtful preparation

Prepare first, then explore further.

Good care begins before you enter the clinic. After booking your appointment, you receive a digital intake form in which you can calmly describe your concerns, the course of your complaints, and relevant health history.

Because I review your answers beforehand, we can use the consultation to focus directly on your situation. We look at the relationship between energy, sleep, nutrition, stress, and your concerns.

Within Traditional Chinese Medicine, I combine this background with targeted pulse and tongue diagnosis. Based on these findings, I determine which treatment approach may be appropriate.

“Not every complaint requires the same approach. And no two treatments need to be identical.”

The Treatment Journey

Your treatment step by step.

From preparation at your own pace to targeted care and regular evaluation.

Before the first appointment01

Intake form in advance

After booking your appointment, you receive an intake form by email. You can take your time to describe your complaints, medical background, and lifestyle. This allows me to prepare for your consultation.

In the clinic02

Intake & TCM assessment

During the consultation, we take time to explore your answers. We look beyond the specific area of pain and consider the broader picture, including energy, tension, sleep, and lifestyle. Traditional observation and pulse diagnosis are used to form a TCM treatment picture.

03

First tailored treatment

Following the intake, your first treatment takes place. Acupuncture forms the basis, optionally complemented by cupping or Guasha when appropriate within the treatment approach. The treatment is calm and tailored to your situation.

The follow-up journey04

Evaluate & adjust

During follow-up appointments, we discuss what has changed since the previous session in terms of pain, rest, or energy. The treatment approach adapts to your body's response; nothing is fixed permanently.

The Foundation

Acupuncture as the foundation.

Classical acupuncture forms the heart of my practice in Tilburg. Very fine, sterile single-use needles are used to stimulate specific acupuncture points on the body.

The points selected are based on your intake form and the findings from the consultation and pulse diagnosis. The stimulation can produce local responses and responses from the nervous system. Many people experience relaxation during or after treatment.

When appropriate, this foundation can be complemented by supportive techniques to help release tension.

Integrated Approach

Complementary treatment methods.

Alongside acupuncture, supportive methods can be used to help address local muscular tension, support circulation or encourage deep relaxation.

Cupping

Glass or silicone cups are placed on the skin to create mild suction. Within TCM, this method is used among other things for tense or stiff muscles and as a complementary treatment approach.

Guasha

Guasha involves gently scraping the oiled skin with a smooth instrument. Within TCM, this traditional technique is used as a complementary treatment for muscular tension and stiffness.

Reiki

In reiki, the hands are placed lightly on or just above the body while you lie clothed on the treatment table. A gentle Japanese method used for deep relaxation and calm, on its own or as a close to an acupuncture treatment.

Expectations

How often will you need treatment?

This varies from person to person, depending on the nature of the complaint and how long it has been present. Some complaints may change relatively quickly, while longer-standing complaints can require more time. Individual responses to treatment also vary.

That is why I deliberately do not make promises about a fixed number of sessions. During treatment, we observe how your body and complaints respond and discuss together which next step may be appropriate.

No standard number of sessions, but a treatment path tailored to your individual process.

Care & Safety

When is acupuncture not suitable?

Acupuncture is a valuable treatment method, but it is not appropriate for every situation. In acute medical emergencies, high fever, or sudden unexplained pain, medical assessment should come first.

If you are receiving specialist medical treatment, we consider how TCM can support you in a safe and responsible way. During the first appointment, we therefore assess whether treatment is appropriate for your situation.
